Desktop · 5 songs free · No card
Try 5 songs free on Mac, Windows, Linux, or a self-hosted Docker server. Vocal separation runs entirely on your machine — nothing leaves your computer. Buy once. No subscription.
Step 1
Pick the build for your operating system. Five songs free, no credit card.
Installers are 700 MB–1 GB depending on platform: the entire AI engine ships inside, so your music never leaves your machine.
For Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and newer). macOS 12 or newer. Signed and notarized by Apple.
Download for MacInstaller for Windows 10 and 11 desktops and laptops.
SmartScreen first launch help →Choose AppImage for portable use, or .deb for Debian/Ubuntu-based distros.
Linux first launch help →Docker image for home servers and NAS boxes. Unraid, NAS boxes, any Docker host. Intel/AMD and Apple Silicon.
See the container Running it on a Mac mini? →The community around Beltr gets a quarter off a licence — but you earn it rather than click for it. Turn up and chat on three separate days, or post something in #showcase that three people react to and it unlocks on the spot. One code per person, good for 14 days. Offer closes 12 September.
First-launch notes
Some platforms show a first-launch prompt before an app builds OS reputation. Each is harmless and takes one click to clear.
Beltr for macOS is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally the first time. No Gatekeeper prompt, no right-click workaround. Drag it to Applications and launch.
Homebrew: prefer the terminal? Beltr keeps itself up to date after install. brew trust --tap casavargas/tap && brew tap CasaVargas/tap && brew install --cask beltr
Windows SmartScreen may appear because Beltr is still building reputation as a new indie app. Click More info, then Run anyway. The Microsoft Store build skips this entirely.
Full SmartScreen help →On most distros you'll need to mark the AppImage as executable (chmod +x) before running it. The .deb package installs through your package manager on Debian and Ubuntu derivatives.
No installer and nothing to sign: the image is pulled from GitHub's registry under the CasaVargas organization. It runs unprivileged, drops to the user and group you give it, and needs no account. The 5-song trial and the one-time license work the same way.

Beltr is desktop-first, local-first karaoke software. It's designed for people who want control over their own music library instead of another subscription catalog — a single developer, a focused app, and no streaming service in the middle.
In the box
A full karaoke stack — not just a vocal remover.
Any song in your library becomes a karaoke track — vocals removed on your machine, nothing uploaded.
Export to MP3+G / CDG for compatible karaoke machines and players.
Drop in MP3+G or CDG zips and play them next to your AI-made tracks.
Lyrics on the big screen, scoring on the host machine — full party setup.
Guests scan a QR code and queue songs from their phones — no app, no signup.
Live scoring adds game-night energy and a per-singer leaderboard.
Beltr films your take and hands you a vertical clip. Made on your machine, shared only when you tap.
Big, readable lyrics that follow the song so anyone can sing along.
One purchase, two devices, and a self-hosted image for the server that already holds your music.

Windows may show SmartScreen for new indie apps until they build enough reputation with Microsoft. Click More info then Run anyway. The Microsoft Store build avoids SmartScreen entirely.
Yes. The macOS build is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally with no Gatekeeper warning. Drag it to Applications and launch.
Use AppImage for a portable option that runs on most distros without installation. Use .deb if you're on Debian, Ubuntu, or a derivative and prefer your package manager.
Yes. After the AI model downloads on first run, Beltr processes songs locally on your desktop. No internet connection required for separation or playback.
You can unlock Beltr through the secure LemonSqueezy checkout after trying the app. License works on up to 2 devices.
8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended), modern multi-core CPU, ~2 GB free disk space for the AI model. Runs on macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon, M1 or newer), Windows 10/11, and Linux.
Yes, as a container. The self-hosted image ships for Intel/AMD and for arm64, so it runs on a Pi 5, an Ampere VPS, or an Apple Silicon Mac under Docker Desktop or OrbStack. On a Mac the container cannot use the GPU, so separation is slower than the native Mac app. Details on the self-hosting page.
Each license key works on up to 2 devices — your laptop and your party machine, for example.
